It is the strawberry season and it is the perfect time to try a classic American dessert and celebrate one of the sweetest holidays- Strawberry Shortcake Day!
Traditionally, shortcakes are slightly sweet biscuits paired with fruit — often strawberries and lots of whipped cream. Making the dessert is quick and easy! You need fresh strawberries tossed with a nice balsamic and honey. You may add sugar or simple syrup to taste. Let is the mix stay for couple hours and pour it over homemade cake/biscuits and top it with whipped cream. You may put pieces of fresh strawberries on the top of the whipped cream for better visual presentation.
